Success Stories: Lynden Line Dancers

July 15, 2019

Hi Dawn!

How are you?

Almost forgot to let you know that the 1st Annual Barn Burner was a total success!  We had over 200 in attendance and 198 of those were tickets sold.  It was packed and if we had sold more tickets and put up more tables we wouldn’t have had any room for a dance floor which was always full!  We didn’t have any major hitches, but just a few small hiccups.  We made $3100 on the dessert dash! We raised over $11,000 in all but after bills and insurances and rent, we had a little over $9,000 to Heroes & Horses.

The best part of the whole evening was having a Heroes and Horses 2018 graduate attend with his wife.  I saw the military haircut come in the door and went to introduce myself but didn’t know until later that he completed last year’s program until I noticed his Heroes &Horses belt buckle.  I knew that only graduates and staff wear those, so I was pretty emotional.  What a blessing and confirmation it was that what we’re doing is the right thing.

Were already planning for next year.  So many of the people who sponsored and helped out made sure to tell me they were in for the next one.  We do have one problem and that’s finding a bigger place to hold it, so we can sell three hundred tickets and still have room to dance.

Thanks again to you and everyone at Cascade Radio Group for helping to make this event such a success. I look forward to working with you next year and making this an even bigger event to help support our Veterans.

All the best,

Char
