Promotions Manager

The Cascade Radio  Group in Bellingham, WA is looking for a full-time Promotions/Digital Champion.  Be the linchpin between sales, our production department and brand managers across all five of our stations!  We’re seeking an outgoing, high energy individual to proactively create, assist & support Brand Managers and Sales with design and execution of on-air, and online/onsite promotions designed to engage listeners and drive revenue.  Our Promotions Manager needs to be a multi-tasker with broad social media skills and ability to create relatable social content.  Experience in radio promotions and/or digital marketing preferred.

In addition, our Promotions Manager will:

  • Use your creativity and graphic skills along with knowledge of Power Point and other station tools to design outreach materials, sales materials, promotional & event re-caps and maintain on-brand presentation across all websites and social media.
  • Be responsible for all permitting and insurance paperwork necessary for all appearances and promotions. Manage and assist with set-up/teardown of station events, remotes and appearances as needed.
  • Step up Aptivada contest platform revenue by developing sellable annual contest events
  • Maintain and update promotional & feature sponsorship calendar for all stations
  • Schedule and conduct regular promotion meetings
  • Manage e-clubs and create regular e-blast campaigns; provide tracking across all stations.
  • Regularly provide presentations on the performance of websites, social media and all digital and interactive products to management and staff.
  • Proactively works with Brand Managers and on-air teams to develop relatable social content, photos and video for Facebook, Twitter, station websites and YouTube.
  • Proactively source prizes and positive community tie-ins for maximizing station exposure.
  • Manage prize inventory, distribution, and winner information and notification.

Accounting Manager

The Cascade Radio Group, a broadcasting company located in Bellingham, WA is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its team.  This position will provide financial information that will assist the General Manager and Department Heads in making informed economic decisions regarding the business operations and the future direction of the Radio Stations.

This full-time position is responsible for all financial and administrative activities including monthly financial statement preparation including workpapers and related schedules thru trial balance.  This includes journal entries, GL reconciliations and analysis, amortizations, accruals, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, trade/barter, A/P, A/R, credit & collections, budgets and forecasting as well as day to day HR responsibilities including payroll and employee benefits administration. This position directly supervises the Traffic department, Reception and Accounting assistant.

Qualified candidate must have a college degree with a minimum of 3 years accounting experience in a similar decision-making position (broadcast accounting experience preferred).  Advanced computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with Great Plains/Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred.  Quick at learning new computer software will be an asset.  Experience with ADP payroll or other similar software will be helpful.

Must be detail-oriented and able to function in a fast-paced and self-directed environment and consistently meet deadlines.  Must be organized and flexible since must juggle a variety of duties and have analytical skills to interpret data and problem solve.  Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and be an excellent communicator who can interface with all levels within the corporate environment.

Part time position (approx. 15 hours/week) $15.00/hr.

Part-time announcer/Board-0p primarily for KAFE, but available for all stations. Includes voice tracking and remotes. One year of on-air commercial radio experience, digital editing capabilities, production and voice tracking skills preferred. In addition, this position covers the board while announcers are out on remotes and road shows. An interest in broadcasting and production will be an asset and allow full utilization of talents. Cascade Radio Group in Bellingham, WA is looking for a dynamic, FULL TIME ON-AIR MORNING NEWS HOST and NEWS WRITER. If you can deliver lifestyle headlines, be focused, creative, multi-task and most of all, love radio, we want to talk to you. Cascade Radio Group has five radio stations serving the Bellingham area and surrounding counties. Your role is kickstarting the day on our heritage, conservative news/talk station KGMI with a 3-hour morning news show chock full of timely, informative newscasts, trending features and interviews with local newsmakers and community members.

Responsibilities include: hosting KGMI’s Morning News 3-hour early morning news show as well as generating social media & digital content. Hours are primarily M-F from 4:30 to 1 pm but may require occasional holiday or special shifts based on the needs of the news department. Must have a deep understanding of how to go beyond the latest headlines and events to craft an entertaining product. Be experienced in sourcing and writing news stories to be used on-air, on station websites and be able to produce and stack stories for afternoon show. As our ideal candidate, you should be able to plan and produce a quality show, through creative ideas and interaction with show producer and by incorporating production and promotional elements as needed.

Benefits package and salary of up to $37,000 per year DOE

The Cascade Radio Group has an immediate opening for a Sales Account Executive who will identify and solicit new business and service and grow existing accounts. He, or she, will develop persuasive proposals in response to client needs and/or opportunities while ensuring client satisfaction through effective communication.

Part time position (approx. 25 hours/week) $15.00/hr.

PT News Broadcaster with strong organizational skills and sound judgment. Assist KGMI/KPUG in updating news content for both broadcast updates and social media. Able to present live and recorded news updates for distribution to all stations. Individual must enjoy deadline pressures and thinking quickly on his/her feet. Experience with on-line website maintenance critical, with an emphasis in all platforms of social media. This position will be mainly M-F in the afternoons. Some variable shift availability and weekends may be required. Candidate will have the ability to host a news program, fill in for show hosts on occasion, and board-op when the KGMI afternoon show is on the road. Produce and update on-air news and sports, station imaging, commercials and promos as necessary.


· Optimal candidate will have 2-4 years journalism experience and some on-air experience.

· Should be tech savvy as learning OMT, Adobe Audition, and short cut software will be required.

· Excellent computer skills required.
